William B. Rabourn, Jr.
Founder and Managing Principal of Medical Consulting Group, Bill Rabourn’s nearly 25 years of comprehensive experience in business strategy has resulted in a track record of success in the medical industry. From his Midwestern headquarters, Bill provides consulting and award-winning creative services to a select group of medical and surgical ophthalmology and plastic surgery practices across the United States. His clients have ranged from newly-founded to prestigious established practices.
Bill provides assistance with integrating innovative surgical products into practices. His corporate clients include a number of Fortune 500 companies and others ranking among the Who’s Who in the medical and surgical device fields. Under his leadership, MCG develops dynamic and robust practice development programs that highlight device manufacturers’ products.
Bill also trains expert field-based teams that teach surgical practices how to create demand, and provides co-op advertising programs through PatientBuilder, which he manages.
After graduating with majors in both Management and Marketing and a minor in Advertising from Missouri State University, where he later taught in its School of Business, Bill began his sales and marketing career in the pharmaceutical industry. Later he was recruited into the financial sector, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of a large financial institution that offered banking, insurance, brokerage, real estate, and travel services. “I missed medicine, though,” says Rabourn, explaining his move into ophthalmology in 1989 and his role as co-founder of Vein and Laser Centers, Inc. He is a member of ASCRS/ASOA and AAOE, speaks at national and regional meetings, has authored dozens of articles for medical trade publications, and has a solid reputation for creating innovative solutions that respond to his clients’ needs.
