Steve Sheppard founded MCG’s ASC division upon joining the company in 1998. Prior to that time, he spent nine years in public accounting, four years as the chief financial officer of an integrated real estate organization that included a registered broker/dealer for real estate syndications, and seven years as the vice president of administration for a nationally-recognize integrated eye care organization.
Steve has been involved with many successful eye ASCs and is a frequent speaker at national eye care meetings. He has provided consulting services to major ophthalmic corporations. Under his leadership, the ASC division has grown to include equity participations and a full range of business and management services.
Steve and his wife Peggy are happily empty-nested in Springfield, Missouri.
Rob McCarville has an extensive portfolio in the field of healthcare facility management, administration, and strategy. Before joining the MCG consulting team in 2002, Rob was responsible for overseeing 16 separate physician practices, building a strong reputation by developing innovative strategies to increase profitability.
At MCG, Rob is a pivotal figure in the planning, development, and ongoing management of ambulatory surgical centers. He has been successful in building collaboration among surgeons and hospitals in the promotion of joint venture ASCs. Rob has been involved with more than twenty centers, with strong growth in orthopedic, multi-specialty, and surgeon-hospital joint venture facilities, as well as the billing and collection service.
Today’s Surgicenter magazine recognized Rob in its 2005 “Who’s Who in the ASC Industry” issue.
Rob resides in Springfield, Missouri with his wife Allison, where they stay busy with the activities of their three children.
Pat’s nursing background includes 25 years experience in the ASC environment with a focus on ophthalmology. As director for several major metropolitan ASCs, she has been involved from initial design through completion, including expansion into multi-specialty services. She brings expertise in day-to-day ASC management, OR efficiencies, and state licensure and Medicare preparedness.
Pat received a B.S. degree from Missouri State University and a nursing diploma from St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield, MO. She holds CRNO, ACLS, and BLS certifications and is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses, the Association of Operating Room Nurses, and the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators. She guides MCG clients through licensure, certification, and accreditation preparedness, which includes equipment procurement, policy and procedure development, staff recruitment and training, and ongoing clinical operations and management.
Pat resides in Springfield and enjoys spending time with her daughter, flower gardening, and traveling.
Elaine Peterson has 22 years of experience working in a surgical environment as a nurse and consultant, managing a wide range of operational functions for orthopedic, neurological, pain management, ENT, GYN, plastic, and general surgeons. Prior to joining MCG, she served as the director of surgical services for a large orthopedic ASC that also offers pain management services.
She received her nursing diploma at Burge School of Nursing and is a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses. Elaine holds CNOR, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
Elaine assists MCG clients with licensure, staff training, implementation of policies and procedures, equipment procurement, customization of supply packs, scheduling, accreditation preparedness, and clinical management for operating centers.
Elaine and her husband live in Springfield, MO, where their three sons are active in sports and music.
Jackie has a B.A. degree from Drury College and combined experience in both the medical and public relations fields. As a liason between clients and the ASC team, Jackie assists in the preparation of ASC policies and procedures, licensing processes, and insurance contracting. She maintains data for case volume and financial pro-formas and works with personnel from various state health departments to insure that MCG clients attain and maintain regulatory compliance.
Jackie and her husband Greg spend most of their spare time involved with their three sons and their numerous sports activities.
Nancy serves as the ASC team’s accountant. She has a B.S. degree from SIU-Carbondale and more than 22 years of experience in tax accounting, personnel/payroll management, and contractual agreements. Nancy handles accounts payable, prepares financial and management reports, and compiles information for preparation of our ASC clients’ tax returns.
A former Army family, the Dillows have lived in numerous locales, but have called Springfield, MO home for 13 years.
With more than four years of public accounting experience and more than five years with MCG, Bruce Koerber supervises accounting operations in the company’s Springfield office. He coordinates accounting and bookkeeping services, and works with local public accountants for tax planning and tax return preparation.
Under Bruce’s leadership, MCG provides a full range of management and accounting support services for more than a dozen ambulatory surgical centers.
Bruce enjoys golf, traveling, and spending time with his wife and their two children.
Brendan Gallagher, MCG’s technology specialist, has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer information systems. Before joining MCG more than five years ago, Brendan was employed by the IT department of a nationally-known brokerage firm.
Brendan oversees the IT needs of MCG and many of our ASC clients, developing and maintaining networks accessible by many remote users.
Brendan lives in the Springfield area, where he enjoys cycling and working on classic cars.
Renee has more than 14 years experience in managing physician practices owned by a large integrated health system. During that tenure, Renee was responsible for the general office functions (including coding, billing, and collections) for a number of primary care physicians and surgical specialists.
Renee oversees MCG Billing Services, a Medical Consulting Group affiliate that provides billing and collection services to ASC clients.
Renee and her husband Dave reside in Springfield and have two adult children.
